Do these words sound familiar?

“Lord, I just can’t take it any more!

I don’t think I can make it!

Its just so hard!”

That was me two years ago! In a car, in tears wondering when things were going to turn around for sarah and I. In our marriage, with our finances, with my career, with Summers health…

Maybe those words sound familiar. Maybe they ring true to where you are right now in your life.

Well today we embark upon a journey of discovering what it means to live a life of trusting God.

Have you ever wondered why trusting God seems so hard at times?

I hear many people praying big bold prayers, but we often don’t realize the journey and process God will use to bring them to a place their heart so longs for!

Just this past week in MI, I had a conversation with a brokenhearted lady – (share story)

1 Corinthians 10:13 The Passion Translation (TPT)

13 We all experience[a] times of testing,[b] which is normal for every human being. But God will be faithful to you. He will screen and filter the severity, nature, and timing of every test or trial you face[c] so that you can bear it. And each test is an opportunity to trust him more, for along with every trial God has provided for you a way of escape[d] that will bring you out of it victoriously.[e]

Some of you here today are struggling to trust God. To allow Him and His plans to play out in your life. Almost to the point where you would be willing to at least try it your way first rather than the slow and at times painful process God has you on. (stand throughout service)

We have all been there! At the place of doubting and asking -“when” God, or “if” God or “how” God, are you going to come through? I am not here to criticize or condemn anyone for doubting, although I do hope to shed some light as to why it is seemingly so much easier to doubt God rather than to TRUST Him.

God DID not promise us that this life would be an EASY one (Many are the afflictions of the righteous). But please also know He did not promise just a hard difficult life either.  Jesus did say these words, if you choose to follow me, my Father’s path is straight and narrow. (golf joke)… It doesn’t mean it’s the harder life, it just means it’s the one less traveled, because He goes on to say You must DENY yourself (your old man), take up your cross (surrender) and follow me (trust).

Jesus came to give us life and life more abundant. It is sooooo important that you believe this truth (life abundantly) at the core of who you are if you are going to grow in trusting God and His plan for your life.

Also, let me say this right at the start – Everything that happens to you is not God’s will nor plan for your life. That belief is something that has caused countless of people to stop trusting God.

He is always good.

He always has your best in mind.

And He is always setting you up to succeed at what He is calling you to do.
