Today marks our 8th week as a church. I am proud of what God is doing. I look toward the future with great expectation and I know that what God began just two months ago He is going to continue to move and do what He does best – which is Transform lives.
This morning I want to continue to speak with you regarding “Rediscovering who God really is”
So many people (especially believers) have a distorted or twisted view of who God is. I, like all of you in this room, have a limited view, an incomplete view of God, but having a limited or incomplete view is different than a distorted and wrong view.
Over the last 20 years especially the last two years, I have discovered some amazing things about God and who He is. These last two weeks have been a delight for me as I have been able to talk about just how amazing our Heavenly Father really is.
Some of you here today, don’t know Him on a personal level. And that’s okay. I truly believe that God meets us right where we are.
I want to look at two passages that we have covered each of the last two weeks –
Jer. 9.23 (NKJV) Thus says the LORD: “Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, Let not the mighty man glory in his might, Nor let the rich manglory in his riches;
Jer. 9.24 (NKJV) But let him who glories glory in this, That he understands and knows Me, That I am the LORD, exercising lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth. For in these I delight,” says the LORD.
Dan. 11.32b (NKJV) but the people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits.
Two weeks ago I asked a simple question.
Who is God for you right now?
I believe that one question can make a profound impact on your life!
Last week I asked another question,
How badly do you want to KNOW God? (what price are you willing to pay?)
This week, I have another one for you –
Do you truly believe God is always good?
There is a very needed truth for our day and time and that truth is that “God is good”… The world (specifically God’s people) are craving the discovery & experience of God’s goodness.
We have heard that God is good many times before, but they are rarely believed in the depth of our hearts…
As a generation we have seemed to lose our faith in the goodness of God. As a generation we have become disheartened in our understanding as to the true character of God. God has been painted and portrayed in a very negative and bad light. This has often led to the conclusion that God doesn’t care, or that He really isn’t good. Maybe with exceptions He is, but the truth is that God, your Father is good always toward you. ALWAYS!
The more deeply you understand the simple truths of what I will share with you today, the better able you will follow and trust God in every circumstance of life…
