What Does “It Is Finished” Mean For You And I?

  1. You cannot improve upon God’s Masterpiece.

God is not trying to fix you. He has made you new!!!  He is calling you up!!!

2Cor. 5.17 (NKJV) Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

2Cor. 5.21 (NKJV) For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

  1. God no longer SEES your past!

Psa. 103.11 (NKJV)  For as the heavens are high above the earth,  So great is His mercy toward those who fear Him;

Psa. 103.12 (NKJV)  As far as the east is from the west,  So far has He removed our transgressions from us.

Is. 43.25 (NLT) “I—yes, I alone—am the one who blots out your sins for my own sake and will never think of them again.

  1. Stop TRYING to be a better Christian… & allow the Holy Spirit to work in you & through you.

“Not by power nor might but by the Spirit of God…”

Titus 3.5 (NLT) He saved us, not because of the good things we did, but because of his mercy. He washed away our sins and gave us a new life through the Holy Spirit.

Titus 3.6 (NLT) He generously poured out the Spirit upon us because of what Jesus Christ our Savior did.

Phil. 2.12 (NLT)  Dearest friends, you were always so careful to follow my instructions when I was with you. And now that I am away you must be even more careful to put into action God’s saving work in your lives, obeying God with deep reverence and fear.

Phil. 2.13 (NLT) For God is working in you, giving you the desire to obey him and the power to do what pleases him.

John 15.1 (NLT) “I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener.

John 15.2 (NLT) He cuts off every branch that doesn’t produce fruit, and he prunes the branches that do bear fruit so they will produce even more.

John 15.3 (NLT) You have already been pruned for greater fruitfulness by the message I have given you.

John 15.4 (NLT) Remain in me, and I will remain in you. For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine, and you cannot be fruitful apart from me.

John 15.5 (NLT) “Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing
