God deals with you from the future/present not present/past.
He speaks of your future and then deals with your present.
Gideon.
Judg. 6:11 (NKJV) Now the Angel of the LORD came and sat under the terebinth tree which was in Ophrah, which belonged to Joash the Abiezrite, while his son Gideon threshed wheat in the winepress, in order to hide it from the Midianites.
Judg. 6:12 (NKJV) And the Angel of the LORD appeared to him, and said to him, “The LORD is with you, you mighty man of valor!”
Judg. 6:13 (NKJV) Gideon said to Him, “O my lord, if the LORD is with us, why then has all this happened to us? And where are all His miracles which our fathers told us about, saying, ‘Did not the LORD bring us up from Egypt?’ But now the LORD has forsaken us and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites.”
Judg. 6:14 (NKJV) Then the LORD turned to him and said, “Go in this might of yours, and you shall save Israel from the hand of the Midianites. Have I not sent you?”
Judg. 6:15 (NKJV) So he said to Him, “O my Lord, how can I save Israel? Indeed my clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father’s house.”
Judg. 6:16 (NKJV) And the LORD said to him, “Surely I will be with you, and you shall defeat the Midianites as one man.”
Abraham.
Rom. 4.17 (NKJV) (as it is written, “I have made you a father of many nations”) in the presence of Him whom he believed—God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did;
Rom. 4.18 (NKJV) who, contrary to hope, in hope believed, so that he became the father of many nations, according to what was spoken, “So shall your descendants be.”
Rom. 4.19 (NKJV) And not being weak in faith, he did not consider his own body, already dead (since he was about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah’s womb.
Rom. 4.20 (NKJV) He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God,
Rom. 4.21 (NKJV) and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform.
Peter.
Matt. 16.16 (NKJV) Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
Matt. 16.17 (NKJV) Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven.
Matt. 16.18 (NKJV) And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.
Matt. 16.19 (NKJV) And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”
