YOU ARE MY BELOVED.
1john 3:1 –
Look with wonder at the depth of the Father’s marvelous love that he has lavished on us! He has called us and made us his very own beloved children.[a] The reason the world doesn’t recognize who we are is that they didn’t recognize him.[b]
Eph. 1:5-6
5–6 For it was always in his perfect plan[a] to adopt[b] us as his delightful children, through our union with Jesus, the Anointed One, so that his tremendous love that cascades over us would glorify his grace[c]—for the same love he has for his Beloved One, Jesus, he has for us. And this unfolding plan brings him great pleasure!
Matt. 3:16-17
16 And as[r] Jesus rose up out of the water, the heavenly realm opened up over him[s] and he saw the Holy Spirit descend out of the heavens and rest upon him in the form of a dove.[t] 17 Then suddenly the voice of the Father shouted from the sky, saying, “This is the Son I love, and my greatest delight is in him.”[u]
Jesus heard His Father say to Him, “You are My beloved Son; in You I am well pleased.”
He is saying that to you today, “You are my beloved son and daughter, in you I am well pleased.”
Moments later, in the wilderness, Jesus was approached by the enemy and the devil said to Him, “If You are the Son of God…”
Notice that the devil not only questioned Jesus’ sonship (identity), but he also neglected to say the word “beloved” when he said to Jesus, “If You are the Son of God…”
You see, the enemy knows if you fully understand and believe you are God’s beloved he can’t trip you up.
Many girls are giving away their virginity because they need to feel wanted and loved.
And young boys join gangs to feel accepted because they have been rejected and made to feel worthless by others.
But when you know that you are God’s beloved, no temptation can succeed against you, not even the “giants” who may taunt you.
Think about David for a moment. The young boy who took out Goliath. “David” in Hebrew means “beloved”. It takes a David to knock down a giant. In other words, it takes someone who knows that he is God’s beloved to win in this life!
You are God’s beloved not because of what you do.
But because where you are placed – In Christ. Christ did everything. And we simply get to receive!!!
He is God’s Beloved. God put you in Christ. That is why you are “accepted in the Beloved”.
And what God said to Jesus, He says to you today:
“You are My beloved son/daughter. In you, I am well pleased.”
Do you BELIEVE that?!!!
You are His beloved Son or Daughter!!!
Your role & responsibility is to be the Beloved of God.
