My prayer and hope is that you are learning to trust God.
Some of you struggle to trust God with your pain.
With your hurt.
With your offense.
With you way of wanting something.
With your business.
With your spouse.
With your kids.
With your future.
With your past.
We are all Learning to rest in the midst of life. And not immediately go to toiling and try to work things out on your own.
REST = to be unmoved and in total peace regardless of what has happened to you.
To rest when relationships are falling apart.
To rest when you have been done wrong.
To Rest when all hell is seemingly breaking lose.
To rest when your mind doesn’t seem to able to stop the crazy thoughts.
To rest in a place of joy and freedom.
To Rest in HIM!
I can imagine some of you mumbling inside saying, “That’s a great thought for a sermon, but How do you DO this in real life???” or maybe, “He doesn’t get it. That stuff don’t work for me”
Our Trust In God is based 100% upon our relationship to Him – Who He is to me and who I am to Him.
John 14.27 (NKJV) Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
the word peace is shalom which is one of well being, tranquility, prosperity, and security, circumstances unblemished by any sort of defect. Shalom is a blessing, a manifestation of divine grace.
True Peace is not subject to the events around us.
The events around are subject to His peace in us.
We must Step…
…into His peace as it rises up from inside of us.
…into His presence as it comes and settles in on us.
…into His rest and watch it drive out the noise and negativity around us.
…into His strength as we wait for it to come and renew our strength.
Every circumstance you encounter already has one key promise attached to it – His presence.
No matter how hard, no matter how harsh, no matter how difficult, no matter how awful; every single circumstance has ONE PROMISE – He is with you.
“Do not fear for I am with you.”
Col. 3.15 (NKJV) And let the peace of God rule (umpire) in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful.
Jesus said it like this,
Matt. 6:26-28
26 “Look at all the birds—do you think they worry about their existence? They don’t plant or reap or store up food, yet your heavenly Father provides them each with food. Aren’t you much more valuable to your Father than they? 27 So, which one of you by worrying could add anything to your life?[y] 28 “And why would you worry about your clothing? Look at all the beautiful flowers of the field. They don’t work or toil,
Toil = hard arduous labor that doesn’t produce much at all. Comes with sorrow.
Luke 5.1 (NKJV) So it was, as the multitude pressed about Him to hear the word of God, that He stood by the Lake of Gennesaret,
Luke 5.2 (NKJV) and saw two boats standing by the lake; but the fishermen had gone from them and were washing their nets.
Luke 5.3 (NKJV) Then He got into one of the boats, which was Simon’s, and asked him to put out a little from the land. And He sat down and taught the multitudes from the boat.
Luke 5.4 (NKJV) When He had stopped speaking, He said to Simon, “Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.”
***Before we read on stop there and think about an instruction/direction God has given to you.
Luke 5.5 (NKJV) But Simon answered and said to Him, “Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net.”
Toil = hard arduous labor that doesn’t produce much at all. Comes with sorrow.
Luke 5.6 (NKJV) And when they had done this, they caught a great number of fish, and their net was breaking.
There is no need to toil (internally) as a child of God. My trust toward God is rooted in Knowing and believing His Love for me.
Many of us try hard to believe when we should be seeking a greater revelation of God’s love for us.
When I am trusting God I am simply responding to His good nature –
Trust = my proper response to my father’s love that allows me to follow his leading regardless of the cost or my ability to understand why…

Job reminds us of one very important truth –
Job 23:10 (nkjv) but he knows the way that I take; when he has tested me, I shall come forth as gold.
He knows…
• Your pain…
• Your doubts…
• Your hurts…
• Your desires…
• Your failures/mistakes…
• Your insecurities…
He tenderly cares…
1 Peter 5:7 The Passion Translation (TPT)
7 Pour out all your worries and stress upon him and leave them there, for he always tenderly cares for you.[a]
He is working behind the scenes…
Rom. 8:28 (nkjv) and we know that all things work together for good to those who love god, to those who are the called according to his purpose.
Let Us Look to Jesus Today & Receive…
Is. 61.1 (NLT) The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is upon me, because the Lord has appointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to comfort the brokenhearted and to announce that captives will be released and prisoners will be freed.
Is. 61.2 (NLT) He has sent me to tell those who mourn that the time of the Lord’s favor has come, and with it, the day of God’s anger against their enemies.
Is. 61.3 (NLT) To all who mourn in Israel, he will give beauty for ashes, joy instead of mourning, praise instead of despair. For the Lord has planted them like strong and graceful oaks for his own glory.
Is. 61.4 (NLT) They will rebuild the ancient ruins, repairing cities long ago destroyed. They will revive them, though they have been empty for many generations.
Is. 61.6 (NLT) You will be called priests of the Lord, ministers of our God. You will be fed with the treasures of the nations and will boast in their riches.
Is. 61.7 (NLT) Instead of shame and dishonor, you will inherit a double portion of prosperity and everlasting joy.
