We are coming up on 2 years… I hear the words “STAY THE COURSE”…

My Church 12-21-19
My Church, you are at a special time – 2020 is going to be a finite year for many! Prayers and hopes you have had are going to be met once and for all! Things will happen slowly – DO NOT FEAR! I will be with you! Decisions that have put off or have been afraid to make, you will make them – I will be with you every step of the way! Do not look to a day or a time – things will be gradual and next year you will look back and see the marvelous things that have been completed! Continue to pray, do not cease, My timing is the right timing. Continue to seek Me. I will meet you; I will reveal Myself to you more and more! Finances will improve; Old jobs will change for the better; New jobs will take place. Healings will take place – be they physical, mental or spiritual! I will give you many blessings because you are faithful. Do not look or try to figure out what is going to happen but believe these things will happen and watch My handiwork!

“We can accomplish more TOGETHER than we can alone.”

Accomplish = impact people’s lives / do God’s work

New Day is not a place you just come to in order to get your kids taught and to have a good God encounter. There is something more. Something we are meant to accomplish together.

“If you want to go FAST you go alone, but if you want to go FAR go TOGETHER.”

I want to draw our attention to the story of Nehemiah for a brief moment… We won’t go into detail this week, but I want to draw a few parallels that will help us as we enter into 2020…

Neh. 2.12 (NKJV) Then I arose in the night, I and a few men with me; I told no one what my God had put in my heart to do at Jerusalem; nor was there any animal with me, except the one on which I rode.

Neh. 2.17 (NKJV) Then I said to them, “You see the distress that we are in, how Jerusalem lies waste, and its gates are burned with fire. Come and let us build the wall of Jerusalem, that we may no longer be a reproach.”
Neh. 2.18 (NKJV) And I told them of the hand of my God which had been good upon me, and also of the king’s words that he had spoken to me. So they said, “Let us rise up and build.” Then they set their hands to this good work.

New Day is not just Justin’s work. This is all our work.

Ps 127

4 Things Stand Out To Me As Nehemiah Rallied God’s People To Do God’s Work…
1. They were in it TOGETHER.
2. They were on a clear MISSION.
3. They were united around a single PURPOSE.
4. They were all DEPENDANT on GOD.

• Every PERSON here MATTERS greatly to God’s plan.
• Every ASSIGNMENT is IMPORTANT to His Kingdom purpose.
• Every GIFT of yours is NEEDED to build His body.

Eph. 4.11 (NLT) He is the one who gave these gifts to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers.
Eph. 4.12 (NLT) Their responsibility is to equip God’s people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ,
Eph. 4.13 (NLT) until we come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God’s Son that we will be mature and full grown in the Lord, measuring up to the full stature of Christ.

WE SHOULD BE ASKING…
how can I best serve, with my time and gifts, those at New Day?

VISION – I see New Day as a place/community of Healing, Rebuilding and Equipping…

I see us as a community of believers who know how to –
…LOVE unconditionally,
…REACH people relentlessly and
…BELIEVE God unapologetically.

Vision Takes Faith To See it…
Vision Takes Faith To Believe it…
Vision Takes Faith To Step Into it…

How do we, as a community, live this out each week?
• Meet people right where they are.
• Call them up into who they are.
• Speak life into their hearts.
• Equip them for the work God has called them to.

3 MANDATES –
1. Lead New Day as a pit stop. (call God’s people up)
2. Mentor the men to the best of my ability.
3. Launch Gatherings – disciple making groups.

Fasting… Fasting is the voluntarily act of abstaining from eating food and/or liquid for a period of time.

Needs a PURPOSE and a needs to incorporate PRAYER.

Fasting is not to GET something from God, but to GAIN clarity and RELEASE God into our situation.

There is not a single reference to fasting in the New Testament epistles.[1] There are no instructions given to believers on how or when to fast. There is no encouragement given to fast. This shows us that fasting is not a major aspect of following Jesus.

Jesus certainly cannot be accused of overly promoting fasting. He was accused by the Pharisees of not practicing it (see Matt. 9:14-15). He chided them for placing it above more important spiritual matters (see Matt. 23:23; Luke 18:9-12).
On the other hand, Jesus did speak of fasting to His followers during His Sermon on the Mount. He instructed them to fast for the right reasons, indicating that He anticipated His followers would fast at times. He also promised them that God would reward them for their fasting. He Himself practiced fasting to some extent (see Matt. 17:21). And He said that the time would come when His disciples would fast, when He was taken from them (see Luke 5:34-35).
Pastoral Confession –
Giving

Matt. 6.21 (NLT) Wherever your treasure is, there your heart and thoughts will also be.

2Cor. 9.6 (NLT) I aRemember this—a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop. But the one who plants generously will get a generous crop.
2Cor. 9.7 (NLT) You must each make up your own mind as to how much you should give. Don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. For God loves the person who gives cheerfully.
2Cor. 9.8 (NLT) And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others.
2Cor. 9.9 (NLT) As the Scriptures say, “Godly people give generously to the poor. Their good deeds will never be forgotten.”
